FAQ

Q: What is Card Bounty?
A: Card Bounty is an unofficial fan-made iOS companion app for the One Piece Card Game (OPCG). It helps you browse the full card catalog, track which cards you own (with purchase prices, dates, grading, and photos), manage a wishlist, and watch your collection grow. The app is not affiliated with Bandai or the official One Piece Card Game.

Q: How does the card scanner work?
A: Tap the camera button at the top of the Collection, Wishlist, or Search tab, point it at a card, and Card Bounty reads the card number using on-device OCR (Apple Vision). It then looks up that card in the local catalog and shows all matching variants for you to pick. No card images are uploaded — everything runs on your device.

Q: The scanner couldn’t read my card. What should I do?
A: Try better lighting, make sure the card number area (bottom-left of the card) is clearly visible, and avoid glare from sleeves. You can also enter the card number manually from the scanner screen (e.g. OP-15-001).

Q: Does Card Bounty require an internet connection?
A: The card catalog is bundled with the app, so the first launch works fully offline — you can browse, scan, and start adding copies right away. An internet connection is needed only to (1) download card images on demand (which are then cached for offline browsing) and (2) check for catalog updates when new sets are released.

Q: Where is my collection data stored? Will I lose it if I delete the app?
A: All your data (copies, wishlist, favorites, captain profile) is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData. Card Bounty does not sync to the cloud — if you delete the app, the data is removed. We recommend keeping iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone so iOS includes Card Bounty’s data in your device backup.

Q: How do I update the card catalog when new sets come out?
A: Go to Settings → Data → Check for updates. The app also checks automatically (about every 6 hours after launch). You’ll see a notice when a new version is available, and you can choose when to apply it.

Q: How does the Tip Jar work? Do tips unlock features?
A: All Card Bounty features are free. The Tip Jar is purely optional support — you can buy the developer a sparkling water (NT$30), a coffee (NT$60), or a meal (NT$120) if you want to. Tips are one-time consumable purchases processed by Apple. There are no ads, no subscriptions, and nothing is locked behind payment.

Q: I bought a tip but it didn’t appear / the page is blank.
A: Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with a valid Apple ID and have a payment method set up. If the tip page is blank, try restarting the app. If the issue persists, please email us with your purchase receipt — Apple keeps the transaction record even if our screen didn’t update.

Q: Is Card Bounty available outside Taiwan?
A: Yes — Card Bounty supports English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, and works wherever the App Store is available. Card prices can be displayed in TWD, JPY, USD, or HKD with optional currency conversion.

Q: I found a bug or have a feature request.
A: Please email us at the address above with as much detail as you can:

  • Your iPhone model + iOS version
  • The card number or feature involved (screenshot helps)
  • Steps to reproduce the issue

We read every email and use feedback directly to plan future updates.
